BASSANO DEL GRAPPA WINE FESTIVAL, 8-9-10 dicembre 2017

What to do in Vicenza this weekend? From 8 to 10 December 2017 will be held in Bassano del Grappa in the province of Vicenza the first edition of the Wine Festival, fair market of Italian wineries.

The location, Bassano Expo, Via Valsugana 22, can be reached from our Relais Santa Corona in about 40 minutes by car and the event is an excellent opportunity to get to know the famous town famous for grappa and for the Ponte degli Alpini designed by Andrea Palladio.

The fair is open from 10.30 to 20.00, entry is 14.00 euros if you buy the ticket on site, 12.00 online http://bassanowinefestival.it/

Exhibitors coming from all over Italy will be about one hundred on 4000 square meters of exhibition space. There will be various tastings organized by the Fisar sommelier association.

Paolo Scarpellini’s performance will be interesting: it will transform the wine tasting experience into music: a glass of wine, beer or a distillate will be enhanced with the matching of the right soundtrack making the tasting a unique experience.

Dalisa Parisotto will instead teach how to combine the wine with the scent and the color of the flowers.

The program of the various events in the calendar can be consulted by visiting the page http://bassanowinefestival.it/programma/

What to do in Vicenza on Monday?

What to do in Vicenza on Monday is a question for all tourists who visit our beautiful city: infact the main museums and buildings are closed. The exhibition in the Palladian Basilica “Van Gogh, between the grain and the sky” can also be visited this day from 9 am to 6 pm. Tickets are available on Linea D’Ombra site http://www.lineadombra.it/it/mostre/van-gogh/van-gogh-la-mostra/van-gogh-introduzione.php

Another thing that can now be done on Monday is to attend the guided tour of the archaeological site of the Corte dei Bissari and the Palladian Basilica from 10 am to 11 am to discover the events that occurred before the construction of the historic monument. The site is very interesting because it helps to reconstruct the foundation of the city of Vicenza, from ancient Venetians to the Roman age, very important for the current urban plan until the Renaissance. The pavement is visible through a paved pavement with transparent glass pavement. There are also a number of artefacts found during excavations, especially Roman times. A longobard burial that houses a precious golden crown has been rebuilt.

Visits are organized in groups of 20 people and require booking; the duration is 30 minutes and the cost is only 2 euros. For reservations please contact Ardea by telephone at 3473938172 or by writing an e-mail to ardeaarcheo@gmail.com. Ask to the reception of our Relais Santa Corona for more questions!
