ARAKI, FONDAZIONE BISAZZA in Montecchio, VICENZA
Il famoso artista giapponese Nobuyoshi Araki espone alla Fondazione Bisazza innumerevoli opere, alcune delle quali inedite.
La fondazione è situata a Montecchio in provincia di Vicenza, raggiungibile in 15 minuti di auto dal nostro Relais Santa Corona, situato in centro storico.
La mostra, curata da Filippo Maggia, è aperta ai visitatori gratuitamente fino a domenica 3 dicembre 2017. I nudi femminili sono i principali soggetti del contestato artista, arrestato più volte in patria. Araki nasce in Giappone nel 1940 ed è principalmente famoso per opere dal soggetto erotico. Dopo aver studiato fotografia lavora per un’agenzia pubblicitaria dove conosce la moglie Yoko. Il matrimonio diventa oggetto da fotografare e Araki pubblica la raccolta Sentimental Journey nel 1971 sul loro viaggio di nozze. Si focalizza successivamente sull’industria del sesso e ambienta molti lavori nei quartieri a luci rosse di Tokyo; le opere sono raccolte in Tokyo lucky hole.
Araki è molto apprezzato a livello internazionale anche da numerosi artisti famosi in altri ambiti, come la musicista islandese Björk che ha chiesto al fotografo di realizzare la copertina dell’album Telegram e ha posato più volte per una serie di fotografie. Recentemente Araki ha ritratto la cantante americana Lady Gaga.
I suoi lavori sono oggi esposti nelle più importi gallerie d’arte come la Tate Gallery a Londra ed il Museo di Arte Moderna di San Francisco.
Le foto presenti alla Fondazione Bisazza sono circa 70 e raccontano le esperienze che hanno maggiormente segnato la vita dell’artista. Significative sono le opere della raccolta “Love on the Left Eye”, oscurate nella parte destra perchè l’artista era diventato cieco dell’occhio destro.
Tema ricorrente e di grande impatto è quello del bondage e dell’antica arte giapponese del kinbaku. Le immagini sono controverse e mostrano corpi femminili legati e spesso nudi, il piacere sconfina in sofferenza e la linea di separazione non è marcata.
Araki ha curato la campagna pubblicitaria Bisazza del 2013 ed alcuni di questi scatti sono visibili oggi nella mostra: la cultura giapponese è enfatizzata dalle ambientazioni di mosaico.

The famous Japanese artist Nobuyoshi Araki exhibits to the Bisazza Foundation countless works, some of which are unpublished.
The foundation is located in Montecchio in the province of Vicenza, a 15-minute drive from our Relais Santa Corona, located in the historic center.
The exhibition, curated by Filippo Maggia, is open to visitors free of charge until Sunday, December 3, 2017. Women’s nude are the main subjects of the alleged artist, arrested several times at home. Araki was born in Japan in 1940 and is mainly famous for works from the erotic subject. After studying photography, he works for an advertising agency where he knows his wife Yoko. The marriage becomes the object of photography and Araki publishes the Sentimental Journey collection in 1971 on their honeymoon. She then focuses on the sex industry and places many jobs in the red lights district of Tokyo; the works are collected in Tokyo lucky hole.
Araki is also widely appreciated by many well-known artists in other areas, such as Icelandic musician Björk who has asked the photographer to make the cover of the Telegram album and has put several times for a series of photographs. Recently Araki has portrayed the American singer Lady Gaga.
His works are today exhibited in numerous art galleries such as the Tate Gallery in London and the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco.
The photos at the Bisazza Foundation are about 70 and they tell the experiences that have most marked the life of the artist. Significant are the works of the collection “Love on the Left Eye”, obscured in the right side because the artist had become blind of the right eye.
A recurring theme with great impact is that of the bondage and the ancient kinbaku Japanese art. The images are controversial and show feminine bodies tied and often naked, pleasure deludes in distress and the separation line is not marked.
Araki has curated the Bisazza advertising campaign of 2013 and some of these shots are visible today in the exhibition: Japanese culture is emphasized by mosaic environments.
