Ancient palace located in the center of Vicenza, the Relais Santa Corona is the ideal point from which to enjoy the charm of the city and its artistic, cultural and gastronomic offer.

The building that now houses the Relais dates back to the 1700s. Like all the palaces and houses of Contrà Santa Corona, one of the most historic and elegant streets of the city, they are grafted onto a pre-existing medieval texture. The succession of these small gothic houses is testified by the “Carta Angelica” designed by the expert of the Serenissima Battista Pittoni in 1580, and today preserved at the Angelica Library in Rome, and by the subsequent maps of the city. The two most important buildings on the street, Palazzo Valmarana Negri and Palazzo Leoni Montanari, appear for the first time in Giò Domenico Dall’Acqua’s “Iconographic Description of the City of Vicenza” dated 1711. Our Relais must have been built only a few years ago. later, adjacent to Palazzo Leoni Montanari, the only example of Baroque architecture in the city and which houses a surprising collection of works of art.

The first house built in the eighteenth century close to the historic Palazzo Leoni Montanari when the facing area was still occupied by the gardens of the church of Santa Corona. The internal wall markers, still visible, from the eighteenth century highlight the contiguity of the two artifacts and how the houses were built in ancient times, leaning against each other.

The building has been entirely renovated in recent years and the family wanted to create a welcoming place for visitors to the city. Today we are the custodians of this history, lovers and scholars of art, happy to share with our welcome guests all the charm and tranquility of our residence.
