GUIDED TOUR VILLA VALMARANA AI NANI

The planned tour will last about one hour and the cost is 3 Euros in addition to the ticket price.

The villa dates back to the ‘700 and is famous for the frescoes by Giambattista and Giandomenico Tiepolo.

It is called “the dwarves” for the legend that wants that the owner’s daughter was suffering from dwarfism and for this reason waiters and janitors were also hired dwarves. One day a handsome prince came to the house, and the girl, realizing his situation, killed himself by jumping from the tower. The dwarves were petrified in pain.

The main building presents a series of paintings linked to mythological classic themes like the Iliad, the Aeneid, excerpts from Jerusalem Delivered by Tasso or Ariosto’s Orlando Furioso.

The villa is a “memory space” in which the characters of the epic dialogue beetween them as in a virtual theater scenes. The guesthouse has a more innovative style that recalls the Enlightenment with everyday scenes of the country life.
